GNM or General Nursing Midwifery is a Three years diploma course and is one of the most recognized in the field of Nursing.

GNM diploma course is considered as a stepping stone towards making a career in the Nursing field. Successful completion of a GNM diploma leads them to be registered as an RNRM (Registered Nurse Registered Midwife) and are designated as a Nurse to working with Government, private hospitals and clinics.

ELIGIBILITY

Age & Gender : The applicant’s age must be at least 17 (seventeen) years as on 31.07.2025 i.e., the applicant should have been born on or before 31.07.2009. Only female candidates are eligible. No Upper Age Limit

Language : Candidates must be able to read, write and express in Bengali and / or Nepali.

Minimum Educational Qualification : a) Must pass ‘10+2’ examination from any recognized Board with atleast 40% marks in aggregate.
b) Must pass in English in (10+2) examination.

Nationality & Residence : The applicant must be a citizen of India. The candidate must be a permanent resident of West Bengal uninterruptedly for at least last 10 years till 31.12.2025

Fitness : All candidates must be medically fit for the course & must produce a Medical Fitness Certificate in the format given in the Information Bulletin of WBJEE ANM (R) & GNM at the time of admission.

Selection Process : Selection will be based on common entrance examination titled WBJEE ANM(R) & GNM - 2026, by WBJEEB. For detailed information on application and admission, follow the website: http://www.wbjeeb.nic.in Students must have to appear in WBJEE ANM (R)/GNM-2026 Examination

Registration : After successful completion of the final year examination, the students shall be eligible for registration with WBNC as a Registered Nurse.
