NABH: It stands for National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers, which is an autonomous body set up in the year 2006 by the Government of India. NABH is responsible for accrediting hospitals in terms of best quality standards. The quality requirement of NABH for hospitals is so high that today (i.e. after 12 years) not even 10 hospitals in Kolkata and Eastern India have NABH. Even in India, only a few hospitals like, Narayana Health of Bangalore, Lilavati & Hinduja of Mumbai, Escorts of Delhi, have achieved the prestigious NABH Accreditation.
